We are a group of friends that have decided to found a club to travel and discover the African continent. We meet a couple of times a year, to spend two or three weeks together and travel to some unknown locations or visit some known locations that we have not
been to for some time. Some of us live in Europe, some in Australia, some are on location but, wherever we are, we join to wander, to see, to learn and, why not… to enjoy this wonderful continent which Africa is.
Our travel standards are rather simple, though comfortable. We sleep in igloo tents (a three person tent for two occupants), with high density mattresses, which allow us a very relaxed and sound sleep, we eat and drink in steel plates and cups and we bring with us our excellent bush cook who is one of the best in the region.
The areas we like to travel to are generally very remote: not the usual parks and reserves, though, we admit, that we like to pass through one park or reserve, on each and every safari. A safari without at least four out of the big five is seldom a safari!
We look for remote sites, in the heart of undeveloped regions, locations that are not visited, if not by the odd tourists and definitely off the main mass-tourism destinations.
All our trips have got an anthropological component, as we like to see different ethnic groups in their environment, a flora & fauna component, as we love to see the animals and their behaviour and a recreational component, as we have learnt by years of travelling, to accept whatever happens and to enjoy what we get.
Some of us are professional guides, but this notwithstanding, what drives us is the pleasure of spending time in open spaces and to travel far away from the chaotic and spinning world that the Western world is.
Our safaris are normally not for travellers at their first African experience, but more for the seasoned traveller, though even the first-comers have been exceptionally happy of their travels.
There are plenty of areas that we would like to travel to and that we are planning to visit. If you want more information, please, go to the Destination&Dates page.
To participate it is sufficient to be presented by a member (go to the Contacts page), after you met him/her. The payment of a fee (membership fee) and then the nominal yearly fee, will allow you to join us on our next safari.
